VicForests TRP Amendment for 144 new coupes - Community submissions
Myenvironment Inc Request for Information f
MyEnvironment Inc.'s request for more information to VicForests on 144 proposed new coupes in the Central Highland's.
Many submissions have flooded VicForests wanting an end to logging, a bit senseless when you consider it. Applying to a commercial logging agency to reduce logging? However, its just another example of an antiquated system designed to fail the community needs and the long term business benefits of our largest public asset - our forests.
Our organisation is calling for a 'time out' to review the status quo of our forests and deliver a real picture on the health of our forest estate before logging can continue to be called 'sustainable'. Logging benefits the few and causes a lot of difficulties for the rest of us who are forced to live with it.

Proposed TRP Amendment - Elizabeth Ninnis - Resident Toolangi
I find it unthinkable and totally unacceptable that this area should now be under threat of decimation by the process of clear fell logging, jeopardising future water quality, land stability, fragile eco systems, and the growing tourist industry, as well as contributing to greater risk of fire, by opening up and drying out the bush. Such an action would also be making a significant and long-term contribution to the process of global warming, at a time when governments are duty bound to take preventative steps against it

We are very concerned to learn that VicForests is applying for an increase of 148 new coupes in Central Highlands logging coupe allocations under the Timber Release Plan TRP 2010-1.
Proposed TRP Amendments - Emma Campbell and Tony Schnaebelbach - Residents Chum Creek
Submission re: Proposed 2010 Amendments of 148 additional logging coupes to VicForests’ Timber Release Plans.
We strongly oppose the proposal to amend the Timber Release Plan and release an additional 148 logging coupes. We have recently been through the February 2009 fires as Chum Creek residents with fire affecting our property and bushland block. We have felt the effect ourselves, and have seen how it has effected our family, our community and our local environment & wildlife. We feel strongly that the release of additional coupes in mostly unburnt forests is a real setback to our personal and community recovery.
Proposed TRP Amendments - Lorraine Leach Healesville Resident Submission
Dear Directors,
As a long time member of the Healesville community and greatly concerned for the viability of our natural eco-systems, I am horrified at VicForest’s proposed changes to the 2006/07 – 2010/11 Timber Release Plan for Central, Benalla/Mansfield and the North East Forest Management Areas, primarily to satisfy a commitment that should never have been made, i.e. to supply cheap wood fibre to an insatiable woodchip industry.
Proposed TRP Amendments - Victorian Rainforest Network
Dear VicForests
I write on behalf of the Victoria Rainforest Network(VRN) opposing logging in the Upper Acheron (southern end) as indicated on the Draft Marysville Timber Release Plan.
